Questions? Answers.

  • The deadline for all submissions is 11:59 pm on 23 November.

  • Bright colours rather than dark colours will allow for a more vibrant projection. So will having more separate layers in your design (such as different elements, colours or shapes).

  • Your tree can be weird or wonderful. However, it shouldn’t be created using AI tools, or include any text or imagery that could be considered offensive. All artwork must be created on iPad using the downloadable template and submitted as a JPEG or PNG file. Please only submit creations that are your own original work (unless you’re a parent or guardian submitting on behalf of a minor).

  • Your tree will be judged for its creativity, visual expression and suitability for projection.

  • We recommend Procreate, Sketchbook, Concepts or Adobe Fresco.

  • Yes. The template ensures your tree has the correct dimensions to be projection-mapped accurately onto Battersea Power Station.

  • Yes, please keep a copy of your original artwork. We’ll need the layered file to animate your tree.

  • The projections will run from 4 to 24 December, between the hours of 5 pm and 10.30 pm.

  • Submissions will be judged in three rounds, based on their week of entry. Entry period one is from 3 to 8 November. Entry period two is from 9 to 15 November. Entry period three is from 16 to 23 November. All 24 winning trees will be revealed on this web page on 4 December, and the projections will appear in chronological order of the entry period in which they were submitted.

  • There will be 24 winners in total.

  • If you are under 18, you can’t enter the competition. But a parent or guardian can submit their details and enter the competition on your behalf.

  • Each person can submit only one entry.

  • By entering the competition, you’re giving us permission to use your entry for promotional purposes for up to a year from the date you enter. You’ll still keep the copyright to your work. For more information on licensing and ownership, view the Terms and Conditions.
